To me coming of age is the same thing as maturity. I say that because coming of age is "meeting" that age when you are old enough to do things on your own and prove that you are a responsible young adult. Maturity to means that you are responsible and reaching an age where you can look out for yourself. You have to prove that you can be trusted with responsibilities and tasks, and when you carry out those tasks, you will prove to your parents that you are mature and they will grant you other privileges, like a later curfew, going out with friends, and so forth.
Hi CJ,
ReplyDeleteAlthough your blog catches the eye, it is a bit disconcerting and probably distracts the reader from your actual communication, the writing. So I would recommend tweaking the graphic a bit. I am also not sure what is represented by the background...is that Paris?

As far as the coming of age post, it is very general and does not really give me any proof that you have mastered last year's concept of "show, not tell." The essay will need to do that so be sure that you incorporate specific experience and details into that.
